Postdoc in Biosensing Devices and Materials for Biomarker Detection
Lab of Prof Dana Alsulaiman, Division of Physical Science and Engineering (PSE) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)

"Developing biosensing devices and materials for the detection of disease-specific biomarkers in clinical samples"

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the lab of Prof Dana Alsulaiman in the PSE Division at KAUST. The postdoc will be involved in leading a highly translational project, combining functional biomaterials and microfabricated technologies in the design of next generation biosensing devices for nucleic-acid biomarkers detection. The aim of the work is to enable more effective and minimally-invasive techniques for disease diagnosis and monitoring from ‘liquid biopsy' type clinical samples. The project will involve collaboration work with local hospitals as well as international world-leading universities.
The candidate must possess expertise in nucleic acid sensing strategies, microfabrication, in addition to electrical or optical biosensor development demonstrated through published high-impact peer-reviewed articles. A strong background in biomaterials characterization and data analysis is also required. Applicants must have received their PhD degrees within the past 5 years.

Job Description
This position will offer you a chance to work with an interdisciplinary team of material scientists, bioengineers and chemists within an inspiring environment where you will have access to cutting-edge technologies and
