The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health is accepting applications for a Department Chair and Tenured Professor of Climate, Infectious Diseases and Pandemic Science. Just like our beloved city of 446 bridges, Pitt Public Health is a school like no other. Spanning across seven academic departments, nearly 650 students and 500 combined faculty and staff, join a diverse and vibrant community of researchers, educators, students, collaborators, and leaders.

Currently known as Infectious Diseases & Microbiology, the Chair will contribute directly to a reimagined and renamed Department focused on improving population health around the globe through the prevention and control of infectious diseases. This position will build on a strong Department foundation in infectious diseases research, education, and practice by driving broad collaboration on sustainability, preparedness, and pandemic science across the research continuum—from bench and clinical to population and community health.  The Chair will also lead the transdisciplinary faculty, staff, and students into a new era of discovery, encompassing pandemic science, climate and health, One Health, and global health, bringing a dynamic vision of the importance of global public health in the 21st century.
