The effective development and implementation of the medical strategies is in collaboration with key priority markets across the globe, working in partnership with clinical and commercial colleagues to prepare for optimal launches and indication expansions within solid tumors in GSK Oncology. You report directly into Lillian, Global Oncology Medical Affairs Leader - ICOS. Responsibilities: As Global Scientific Director, IO Solid Tumors you, Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Oncology Medical Affairs strategic plans which includes the development of focused External Engagement Plans for IO Solid Tumor assets in development Drive excellence in external expert engagement skills, including congresses, stand-alone meetings, medical education, advisory boards, scientific communications and publications Collaborate with Alliance Partners, Clinical Development teams and the Global Franchise to ensure insights are communicated in a timely way and that clinical trial plans, evidence planning, data gathering, and generation are consistent and aligned to optimize brand strategies Oversee development and management of GSK supported, collaborative and investigator sponsored studies Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial leadership team partners to identify customer and patient needs Develop innovative strategies and solutions that contribute to the optimal launch of new products/indications, and appropriately address patient needs Provide input into commercial strategy and marketing plans, involving technical accuracy, fair and balanced information and conformance with prevailing legislation, regulations and internal standard operating procedures Act as a Senior Leader in establishment of medical therapeutic matrix teams to ensure optimal transference of knowledge and skills amongst the Medical Division Embed a strategic mindset, value creation culture, and process within the medical affairs organization Contribute a robust knowledge of the disease area, governance and GSK policies; identifying and assisting in management of issues regarding compliance with governance and risk management practices. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Master's Degree with Medical Affairs experience in Oncology Minimum 5 years of experience in related field/function Experience and understanding of the drug development, regulatory and commercialization process, including clinical trial development, is critical to the role Proven ability to understand business strategy and to translate it into market access strategies that support the company's business goals Solid inter-personal skills: proven ability to be an authentic, trust builder. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: PhD or Pharm Behavioural competiences, ability to: Communicate effectively to lead cross functional teams and achieve results; present complex data to groups at all levels of the organization and externally to GSK.
