Postdoctoral Associate

Required Qualifications (As evidenced by attached resume):
Doctoral Degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in hand by March 2022. Experience with learning theory, behavioral training, and either imaging or electrophysiology in rodents.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or MD (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in Neuroscience, Psychology, Electrophysiology, or Behavior.
Brief Description of Duties: The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Neurobiology & Behavior. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. Research will be in the field of Circuit, Systems and Behavioral Neuroscience, executing and analyzing experiments aimed at investigating how sensory context, expectation of incoming sensory stimuli and learning modulate activity in sensory and limbic areas.

 

  • Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills such as electrophysiological recordings, imaging experiments and behavioral experiments to analyze the collected data.
  • Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
  • Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies as needed.
  • Training of junior investigators and/or students
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.?
