Infectious Diseases Team Scientist
The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time, non-tenure-eligible Team Scientist at the rank of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include working with project team members to understand molecular evolution, phylodynamics, and the epidemiology of emerging pathogens.
Candidates will hold a PhD in a relevant field (computational biology, computer science, mathematical biology, or statistics). The candidate will have expertise in the statistical analysis of pathogen transmission, mathematical and computational modeling, and/or phylogenetic and phylodynamic methods with special interest in, but not limited to, RNA viruses such as HIV or SARS-CoV-2. The ideal candidate will have a track-record of publishing in peer-reviewed, academic journals, and excellent communication skills.
The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
