The Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at the University of Nebraska Medical is seeking candidates at the Assistant Professor level to join a cross-collaborative research team in studies of chemical modifications and pharmacokinetics of long-acting (LA) antiretroviral therapy (ART). We seek a highly motivated pharmaceutical expert with expertise in mass spectrometry assay development and bioanalytics. A skilled energetic individual with prior extensive training in metabolomics, ADME and bioinformatics. Responsibilities include research design, planning, execution and interpretation of drug metabolism [absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion (ADME)], and toxicity for preclinical laboratory and animal studies. The chosen individual will investigate drug metabolism and metabolites with linked method development and optimization. Characterization and assay optimization for detection of lipid, peptides, drug(s) metabolites in animal and human biological materials for drug levels is required. The long-term goals are to develop an independent analytical chemistry program that will support a multi-disciplinary research team.


PhD or MD or MD/PhD (chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics) with a strong research program documented by publications, extramural funding, and broad reputation in scholarly works, as well as, 5 years of mass spectrometry experience, excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
