The School of Medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans seeks applicants for a Postdoctoral Research position to design and perform experiments related to the development of targeted osmotic lysis of cancer cells.
This research will require the formulation and testing of hypotheses, experimentation with cells tissue culture, flow cytometry, immunohistofluorescent microscopy , animal surgery, and data analysis. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and the laboratory personnel, the postdoctoral researcher will obtain and/or enhance their existing expertise in receptor pharmacology and cancer/cell biology, as well as the cultivation of new skills and knowledge.
The successful candidate will also participate in the Pharmacology teaching programs, assist in directing the Pharmacology class in Dental Hygiene and train and mentoring high school interns. The candidate will also participate in writing and applying for grant applications as well as writing, drafting figures and editing manuscripts.
The incumbent will be trained on the responsible conduct of research and ethics in research and will be required to participate in the departmental seminar series. In addition to the technical training, the incumbent will be mentored to write scientific manuscripts and to submit grant applications.
