Empire Innovation Program Faculty Positions in Vision Research
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) and the interdepartmental Center for Vision Research (CVR) at SUNY Upstate Medical University are seeking candidates to fill faculty positions supported by the prestigious State University of New York Empire Innovation Program (EIP). The EIP supports the recruitment of faculty with strong track records of research accomplishments and that are recognized leaders in their fields with international reputation for outstanding research. The Center for Vision Research has been recognized for its strength in eye research and was competitively awarded two EIP positions to be filled immediately.
We are seeking researchers with expertise in imaging of the living eye and in developing artificial intelligence approaches, including machine learning or deep learning, applied to eye research and/or diagnostics. Candidates for one position should have an outstanding research and funding track record and demonstrated international reputation. Candidates for the second position may be earlier in their career path with demonstrated potential for a vigorous independent career. Candidates should have MD, PhD or MD/PhD degrees or equivalents.
