TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN BIOMEDICAL GLYCOSCIENCE COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATE RESEARCH CENTER
The University of Georgia announces an opening for a tenure track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level in the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center in any area of biomedical glycoscience. Applications will be considered from talented and accomplished investigators who currently maintain or exhibit potential for developing vigorous research programs. The successful candidate will be expected to build or maintain a vibrant, extramurally-funded research program that integrates with and leverages the highly collaborative research environment at the CCRC and UGA. The individual will have access to a robust graduate student training program and undergraduate trainees, as well as the opportunity to participate in classroom education. All applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences. Applicants should also have at least three years relevant postdoctoral research experience, a publication record in the areas of glycoscience commensurate with appointment as an Assistant Professor, and a well-developed research plan that is competitive for NIH funding. Competetive candidates will show evidence that their research program will complement existing strengths of the CCRC including functional and structural glycomics using MS, NMR, modeling, and MD simulation, enzymology and structural biology of glycan biosynthesis, developmental glycobiology, roles of glycans and glycoconjugates in disease processes such as cancer, inflammation, immunology, cell signaling, metabolic, neural and genetic disorders, microbial glycobiology, chemical and chemoenzymatic glycan synthesis, and plant glycoscience (www.ccrc.uga.edu).
