ASSOCIATE RESEARCH SCIENTIST

The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, seeks an Associate Research Scientist to investigate the signaling mechanisms of acute kidney injury. Experiments involve genetically modified mice and cell culture models using pharmacologic pathway inhibitors of signal transduction. Proficiency in cell culture, immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, confocal microscopy, and immunoblotting techniques is required. 

Ability to work with minimal guidance is expected and essential. The desired candidate must be able to develop and learn new techniques as required for these studies as well as teach techniques to other members of the laboratory. Additional duties may be assigned as required by the PI.

Qualified candidates must have a PhD, MD, or both in addition to four or more years of research experience in their field. The university offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. This position falls under a collective bargaining agreement.
