POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE

DEPARTMENT OF IMMUNOLOGY AND NANOMEDICINE

 

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University is currently seeking a full-time, non-tenure, Postdoctoral Associate position within the Department of Immunology and Nanomedicine. Research in the laboratory focuses on identifying molecular mechanisms regulating HIV latency in the CNS and lung with a goal of eradicating viral reservoirs in these target organs. Lung research will also emphasize on the effects of HIV infection and cigarette smoke on lung inflammation and develop therapeutic approaches to rescue the effects. The Postdoctoral Associate will work with HIV and animal models. The selected candidate will also be responsible for analyzing scientific data, writing manuscripts for publication, and helping with grant proposals to agencies such as the National Institute of Health (NIH), DOD, and NSF. Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree (PhD or MD). Prior experience working with animals and researching lung comorbidities in HIV is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates within a year of their terminal degree (PhD or MD).
