1. Introduction

Sun Yat-sen University, founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen and with an educational tradition spanning over 100 years, is a preeminent research, academic and cultural center in South China. Under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and strongly supported by both the Ministry and Guangdong Province, SYSU ranks among the 100 in the world and the 7th in mainland China according to the latest Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). With five campuses in the three cities of Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Shenzhen, and ten affiliated hospitals, the University is striving to become a world-class university and global center of learning. 

School of Artificial Intelligence (SAI) was established in June 2020 at Zhuhai campus, SYSU, and we are recruiting talented scholars with expertise in artificial intelligence by providing excellent career development opportunities, wonderful working environment, and competitive salary. Currently, SAI has established the "Guangdong Key Laboratory of Big Data Analysis and Processing" and the "Ministry of Culture and Tourism Key Laboratory of Sustainable Tourism Intelligent Evaluation Technology". In 2021, the school supported our newly recruited overseas scholars to apply for the general programs from National Natural Science Foundation of China, achieving a 100% funding rate.

2. Research Areas of Recruitment 

Scholars with expertise in big data intelligence, cross-media intelligence, and collaborative intelligence are welcome to apply for our positions, including but are not limited to the areas of Swarm Intelligence, Autonomous Intelligence, Hybrid Augmented Intelligence, Quantum Intelligence, Robotics, Unmanned Driving, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Speech Recognition, and the Internet of Things, AI Chips, and etc.

3. Position descriptions

(1) “Hundred Talents Program” Scholars

Leading Talents (Professors): Carrying out in-depth research with great innovation, future development prospects, and key common technologies, having achieved landmark academic achievements with a significant impact. 

 Eminent Talents (Professors or Associate Professors): Having particularly excellent research achievements and technological innovation potential in innovative prospects; Having academic achievements that are widely recognized domestically and overseas. 

Academic Core Talents (Associate Professors): With active innovative thinking, strong innovation ability, and outstanding research potential; having achieved high-level and innovative professional achievements.

Talents (Assistant Professors): Good educational and research backgrounds, being actively innovative and having strong development potential; Obtaining the doctorate in no more than 3 years. 

(2) Professional Research Series Positions (including post doctors)

Researchers: Post doctors, lecturers, or assistant professors from recognized universities and research institutions domestically and overseas; with no less than 3 representative academic achievements (scholars with outstanding academic achievements could appropriately reduce the number requirement); Priority will be given to applicants who have project experience of provincial level or above.

Associate Researchers: Having great academic potential; No less than 2 representative achievements (scholars with outstanding achievements could appropriately reduce the number required to one). 

Post doctors: Having strong scientific research ability in related fields.  Obtaining the doctorate in no more than 3 years.
