The Center for Human Genetics (McDermott Center for Human Growth & Development) at UT Southwestern Medical Center (http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/mcdermott-center) invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor. We are seeking individuals with innovative experimental research programs in human molecular genetics. The appointment will include a competitive salary, attractive start-up package, and excellent laboratory space. The McDermott Center is a dynamic, highly collaborative research environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure for basic and clinical research related to human genetics, including family/patient collection, next-generation sequencing, and bioinformatics. UT Southwestern is part of a large integrated clinical health care system that provides primary care and referral services to the people of Dallas and North Texas (~6 million individuals).

Candidates should hold a graduate degree (MD, PhD or MD/PhD) and have completed a postdoctoral fellowship.  The position includes a joint appointment to a basic science or clinical department. Successful candidates are expected to establish a vigorous independent research program and to train graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.  Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
