Postdoctoral Position in Additive Manufacturing

The Ray Research Group at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is recruiting a postdoctoral research fellow with a focus on additive manufacturing.

We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated recent Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Bio/Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field to join a multidisciplinary team involved in developing a multiscale, multi-material composite print method. The position requires expertise in the fabrication and testing of both the printer and printed samples. Relevant experience would include one or more of the following:

• aerosol jet printing, 
• stereolithography / CLIP.
• acoustic focusing / acoustophoresis (microfluidics),
• direct-write printing,

The candidate should have expertise in mechanical design and assembly, electronics, ink formulation, materials characterization, and/or other relevant skills related to additive manufacturing.

The postdoctoral researcher will work collaboratively towards the development of composite materials with demonstrated multifunctionality. A strong publication record and training to perform independent research are required for further consideration.  A successful candidate will work well in independent and team-based settings, be willing to solve challenging problems, and has excellent written and oral communication skills.
