The lab of Dr. Stephen Skapek is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a research team in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The team uses a variety of molecular, cell, and computational biology approaches and mouse and human model systems to study fundamental elements of tumor suppressor and oncogene biology, cancer metabolism, and cancer genomics. Our major goal is to identify and characterize the key vulnerabilities in childhood cancer and move that knowledge toward the clinic.

Candidates should have a PhD (or MD with equivalent scientific training); broad-based knowledge/experience with cell and molecular biology techniques; familiarity with cancer biology and the regulation of cell proliferation, apoptosis, and senescence; and a track record of productivity with excellent presentation and writing skills. Knowledge regarding cancer metabolism is a plus. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work directly with laboratory-based and clinical researchers on complex and important problems in cancer biology and will be offered competitive compensation/benefits.

Interested candidates should send a CV, statement of research interests and a list of three references to:
