What You Will Achieve

ROLE SUMMARY

The key purpose of this position is to support experimental laboratory formulation development and preparation activities for early candidate small molecule substrate, which including performing standard, routine observational/analytical testing of prepared formulations and standard data documentation/data input. Additional support will be needed for laboratory and chemical supply maintenance, compound/formulation logistics and delivery.

Overall, the candidate will demonstrate team effectiveness and communication skills, seek input from others and work as a team member with groups across the US. They will be expected to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity/timing. The candidate will troubleshoot process issues using technical judgement and propose any alternative strategies. The candidate will incorporate new and innovative work processes and ideas into daily tasks and contribute with any previously acquired knowledge and skills The candidate will solve moderately routine problems and conduct experiment execution with only moderate direct supervision. The candidate will know and be accountable for adhering to Pfizer standards, guidelines and values.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Following instructions and using own input, support the preparation and delivery of a variety of formulations supporting pharmacokinetic, efficacy and toxicology studies conducted on site in Groton CT laboratories.
  • Provide data, summary of findings and detailed observations for capture in reports and electronic notebooks
  • Conduct analytical experiments according to standard procedures and also utilizing independent input and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, highly detailed environment, supporting and tracking multiple projects simultaneously
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring excipient and vehicle supply and inventory
  • Support logistics of compound and formulation supply, management and delivery
  • Manage own time and be accountable for own results


Qualifications
  • Minimum associate's degree
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to communicate data and observations clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Good communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Prior demonstrated laboratory and instrumentation experience is required


Preferred Qualifications
  • Scientific Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Knowledge of chemical laboratory operations and safety protocols


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have the ability to perform laboratory work which may include bending, lifting, sitting & standing for extended periods of time

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Occasional requirements to arrive on site early morning to support pre-study formulation activities.

Initial day travel to Cambridge, MA for lab training may be required.
