The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale University invites applications for an open rank position in Ecosystem Ecology. We conceptualize ecosystem ecology as the study of fluxes and accumulation of energy and matter, including, but not limited to, biogeochemistry, global carbon cycling, and hydrology. We also recognize that many ecosystem ecologists use tools from physiology, theoretical ecology, and other fields, and we are interested in applicants with integrative research programs complementing the mission of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

A record of outstanding scholarship and a promising research program are more important than the specific research area. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.  A Ph.D. or equivalent degree at time of hire is required for this position.

Interested candidates should submit online a CV, three relevant reprints or manuscripts, brief research, teaching, and diversity statements, and recent Ph.D.'s and Assistant Professor candidates should arrange for three referees to upload letters of recommendation by the due date at https://apply.interfolio.com/94179.  Applicants may contact Carla Staver at carla.staver@yale.edu with any questions regarding the position. The search will remain open until the position is filled. Review of applications will begin on 15 November 2021. The anticipated appointment start date is July 2022.

Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its students, staff, and faculty and strongly welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities.
