SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this Research Investigator position is to apply technical expertise and experience to coordinate, design and carry out research projects.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Research Design and Implementation Plan, revise and execute experiments designed to further the aims of the assigned research project. Will use expertise in the study of contribution of immune cells on leukemia and brain tumor therapeutics. These assays will be used in toxicity testing and will evaluate the effects of chemical compounds on cellular, molecular and biochemical processes.

Publications, Manuscripts and Presentations Analyze data from experiments in the preparation of publications to include abstracts for presentation at internal and external meetings and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.

Supervision and Training Train assigned personnel in scientific techniques, laboratory safety, equipment operation and maintenance. Personnel may include students, postdoctoral fellows and other classified research staff. Design and implement quality assurance.

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field. Five years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
