Job Details

A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Liang Liu at the Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota. Our laboratory pursues both basic and translational cancer research using a combination of functional genomics and bioinformatics analysis, cell-based studies, clinical tumor specimens, and mouse models. Research topics include the identification of novel molecular targets and pathways in skin tumorigenesis, dissection of the crosstalk between genetic and epigenetic mechanisms in cancer and inflammation, and functional validation of biomarker genes that we identified for developing targeted cancer prevention and treatment.

We are recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join the lab. Prior experiences in PCR, CRISPR, immunohistochemistry, mouse genetics and basic bioinformatics are desired. Primary responsibility will be to lead research projects independently or with appropriate supervision as needed. Day to day responsibilities include: Design and perform experiments, develop new research protocols when needed, collect and analyze data, review literature and present data at local and national meetings from time to time, prepare research proposals and manuscripts.
