Close cooperation with existing research groups in the faculty and participation in the interfaculty focus areas Polymer & Colloid Science and Advanced Materials as well as the Bavarian Polymer Institute (BPI), the Bayreuth Institute for Macromolecular Research (BIMF), and interuniversity collaborations, especially in the Bavarian Excellence Network “Cellular Hybrids” is expected. Furthermore, activities related to sustainability and biologization of materials science will be supported.

The future postholder should represent the teaching of macromolecular chemistry in its full breadth, e.g. in the bachelor’s programme Polymer & Colloid Chemistry and in the master’s programme Polymer Science, and actively participate in other programmes at the University of Bayreuth, such as Sustainable Chemistry & Energy.
