The Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM)) seeks a talented individual for the role of Scientific Editor or Senior Scientific Editor, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities:

Scientific Editors oversee the peer review process for submitted manuscripts and recruit high quality submissions to the Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM). A Senior Scientific Editor carries these responsibilities and is also involved in promoting journal policies and, in conjunction with the Executive Editor, training Scientific Editors. The successful candidate is expected to effectively manage projects and tasks that will make a significant contribution to the overall strategic direction of the journal.   

Skills:

PhD in neuroscience or other biomedical field, required. Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred. The position requires regular travel to attend relevant scientific meetings and to visit research institutions. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills and superb attention to detail, as well as a strong interest in scientific publishing and publication ethics. To be considered for the Senior Scientific Editor role, two or more years of editorial experience is required; three or more years is preferred.
