We would like to complement and expand our diverse research portfolio by attracting candidates working on real world global concerns using a broad range of approaches from basic science to more translational and quantitative disciplines. The Department of Biology is a highly dynamic and collaborative department with 13 tenured or tenure-track faculty pursuing research using a variety of model organisms. The department is housed in the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building which includes a comprehensive Cell Imaging Center. The Department is located in the University City area of Philadelphia with several academic and research institutions concentrated in a rich urban atmosphere.

The Department of Biology at Drexel University is deeply committed to upholding and encouraging diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are aware of systemic injustices that disadvantage historically excluded groups within science and are committed to educating ourselves further about these disparities to create a more equitable system.  Our Department embraces all facets of diversity including but not limited to: race, color, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, language/ linguistic ability, visa status, religion, creed, age, class, socioeconomic status, military status and disability status. While we stand firmly against discrimination, we simultaneously work towards promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our Department. Our differences serve both to enrich and connect us. Acknowledging and celebrating this diversity provides the only path forward in building a strong community - one that will flourish through open dialogue, meaningful collaboration and shared intellectual curiosity. To achieve these goals, we strive to be a welcoming, accepting, and malleable department that can grow and adapt to best serve our members and our community and expect the same of future Faculty members.

The anticipated start date for these positions is Sept. 2022. Review of application will begin November 1, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.

Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or DPhil as well as appropriate postdoctoral experience. A minimum of 3 years (teaching, research) experience. Must be legally able to work in the United States.
