The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah seeks applicants for a tenure-line Assistant Professor position. We welcome diverse applicants with expertise in any area of Pharmacology or Toxicology, with particular interest in applicants involved in cross-cutting research in genetics/genomics, personalized medicine, analytical sciences, and/or mechanistic and/or translational pharmacology and toxicology, particularly as they relate to cancer, neurological, cardiovascular, and metabolic and inflammatory disorders and diseases. Ideally, the applicant’s research will complement existing departmental research expertise in these areas. Applicants will be expected to develop and sustain an independent, extramurally funded research program as well as teach in the College of Pharmacy PharmD and PhD programs. The University of Utah is ideally suited to support cutting-edge research at the basic and translational levels, with a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere and state-of-the-art healthcare and research facilities.

The department is strongly committed to promoting diversity among its faculty, staff, and students. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive, equitable environment within the Department and, more broadly, in Education and Science. A demonstrated commitment to these values will feature prominently in the selection process of applicants. All candidates are urged to put their best effort into providing the required diversity statement for this application.
