A postdoctoral associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Issam Al Diri in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are interested in the roles of chromatin architecture in coordinating gene expression during retinal development and diseases. Our group focuses on three areas: 1) 3D genome organization of retinal neurons, 2) chromatin landscape dynamics during retinal development and disease, 3) coordination of retinal development by chromatin modifying enzymes. The lab combines cutting-edge genome sequencing, cell imaging, and traditional genetic and biochemical approaches to address these areas. Several exciting projects that involve mapping the cis-regulatory landscape during retinal developmental transitions are available.

Successful candidates should have a recent PhD in genomics, molecular biology, neuroscience, molecular genetics or related fields. Experience in genomics and computational biology is particularly preferred.

Interested candidates should sent a cover letter and curriculum vitae with contact information for three references to aldirii@pitt.edu.
