Tenure Track Faculty Opportunity

The Alzheimer’s Center at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is currently seeking an outstanding scientist for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level whose research program investigates mechanisms relevant to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative conditions.

Qualified applicants will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1) neurobiology of aging; 2) molecular biology using animal models and cell culture systems; 3) histopathology and biochemical analysis of human and non-human brain tissue; 4) biochemistry and molecular biology.  Applicants should have a proven track record of consistent publications in high impact journals, an established research program and independent funding from NIH and/or private Foundations in these areas. Successful candidates should have an MD, PhD or MD/PhD degree, and a strong academic record in the biology of neurodegenerative diseases or neuroscience with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s and related neurodegenerative diseases.  We are especially interested in qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups. 

 

The Alzheimer’s Center at Temple occupies space in the Medical Education and Research Building, a new state-of-the-art building fully dedicated to basic and clinical research and medical education.  This position will complement and synergize with ongoing basic and clinical research programs within the Departments of Neural Sciences, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Neurology, and Medicine.  Additional information about Thrombosis Research Center can be found on this website Alzheimers Center at Temple  and additional information about LKSOM can be found at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University
