We're excited to present a Senior Scientist opening within Pfizer's Global Toxicology group. This is a highly collaborative team that provides analytical expertise, contributing to the development of new procedures and methodology, stability study designs, troubleshooting problematic analytical and formulation issues, training and harmonization and optimization of best processes. The incumbent will provide analytical support in performing all aspects of the analytical scientist role, contributing to the development of new procedures and methodology, stability study designs, troubleshooting problematic analytical and formulation issues, training and harmonization and optimization of best processes. They will also have working knowledge and ability to operate HPLC.

  • Utilizes technical expertise and scientific knowledge in the development and validation of analytical methods used for formulations analysis in support of GLP Drug Safety Studies.
  • Performs, reviews, and evaluates concentration, homogeneity and stability analyses data on toxicology dosing formulations under GLP and/or non-GLP experimental conditions in compliance with all GLP regulations, protocol, SOP, policies, method and safety procedures.
  • Responsible for analytical study planning and program startups for internal and external studies, interfacing with colleagues in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmaceutics as necessary.
  • Demonstrates technical competency in Analytical Chemistry, specifically liquid chromatography, with increasing complexity as experience is gained, with an understanding of the purpose of supported Global Toxicology studies.
  • Participates in technical transfer meetings with CROs as necessary.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and scientific knowledge with writing and/or contributing to method development and validation instructions.
  • Serves as Principle Investigator overseeing the conduct of formulation concentration and/or particle size analysis on formulations prepared and utilized on studies conducted at CRO's.
  • Contributes to the accuracy and completeness and serves as subject matter expert and contributor to the analytical information for both internal and external study protocols based on study design discussions.
  • Applies technical and functional knowledge in order to resolve issues (eg. troubleshooting procedural/technique, equipment, regulatory, scheduling issues, communication).
  • Makes laboratory decisions using scientific judgment in order to solve complex issues.
  • The individual should also be proficient with a wide-variety of software and information systems, in particular Empower.
  • The colleague must be able to interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.

  • PhD Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field. MS with 7+ years of research experience, or BS with 9+ years of laboratory research experience.

  • Knowledge of both Analytical HPLC and Formulations
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices
  • Experience in pharmaceutical drug development
  • Solo VPE
