The Research Technician will work on projects aimed at discovering the immunogenetic, epigenetic, and environmental mechanisms underlying type 1 (autoimmune) diabetes and targeting these mechanisms in order to develop new therapies. The technician will maintain mouse colonies and assist in experiments using these mice. They will genotype the mice, induce disease in them and treat the disease in them. They will also assist with additional lab work including ELISA, Western blotting, PCR, qPCR, DNA sequencing and genotyping, immunohistochemistry, and more. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in related science field and at least one year of experience including experience working with mice.
