Associate Director Marketing - Hepatitis Delta UK/I

Hepatitis D, also known as delta hepatitis, is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis D virus (HDV). Hepatitis D only occurs in people who are also infected with the hepatitis B virus and is often poorly diagnosed within the healthcare setting with limited treatment options.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced marketer with leadership hallmarks to join Gilead as Associate Director UK & Ireland affiliate to lead the launch of a medicine within Hepatitis Delta. This is a newly focused role due to an internal move within the company.

This role will be involving shaping and delivering plans for this exciting new area and reports into the Marketing Director.

Key responsibilities:

Lead, deliver and build the HDV country brand planning process

Engage and support global team with development of product campaigns

Development and deployment of disease awareness campaigns across multiple stakeholders

Leadership of brand team working across departments and aligning with other liver/covid-19 brand teams

Synergistic approach to brand management across liver diseased both HCV/HDV whilst looking for efficiencies

Spearhead and lead effective working relationships and effective engagement plans with NHS Therapy Area Experts and other key stakeholders to strengthen Gilead's position within the liver space as well as building insights.

Continually monitor environment and leverage market research/analytics to optimise marketing plan and tactics. Driven by insights and innovation.

Demonstrate leadership excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects and priorities, including close working with agencies procurement and relationship management

Leadership and delivery of key promotional and disease awareness events at conferences etc through the year

Supporting opportunities to improve our corporate narrative within liver to establish further partnerships within sector

Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliant with Gilead SOP and ABPI/HPRA Code of Practices

Profile:

  • Expertise and track record of successful leadership of marketing plan development and implementation, budget management and proven success.

  • Leadership of cross functional initiatives, plans & strategy with proven results

  • Strong team ethic and proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Good knowledge of UK & Irish Healthcare environment

  • Good analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and then leading appropriate cross-functional solutions

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required.

  • Advanced planning and organisational skills, including ability to follow tasks/assignments through to completion

  • Demonstrated understanding of external and internal pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required

  • Liver/viral experience of benefit but not essential

  • Strategic thinker, clear presenter and able to influence internal and external stakeholders
