Summary

Gilead Sciences has an opening for a Senior Manager, Learning and Development, in the R&D Quality and Compliance Department. In this role, you will develop and deliver compliance-related training to individuals in RDQC as well as across the larger Development function across site in the US as well as Globally. Training to be developed and delivered will be both F2F (in person or Zoom) as well as web-based.

Responsibilities
  • Understands adult learning theory and participant centered training
  • Develops training strategy and ensures translation of strategy into training deliverables in partnership with project managers, functional leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Develops and conducts training and educational programs for personnel through formal classroom courses, one-on-one sessions, workshops, and/or web-based training.
  • Develops and maintains training content in compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge on GCP and GVP principles in order to deliver / design high quality training.
  • Coordinates with subject matter experts to ensure that prepared training meets stated objectives and has appropriate content.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on best practices and state of the art training delivery methodologies, curriculum development, etc.
  • Leads group training sessions. Conducts follow up to determine applicability of course material.
  • Collaborates with Management team to ensure optimal tracking of training and development records.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of trainings, implementing modifications, when necessary, and monitoring training compliance for staff.
  • Provides guidance and technical knowledge to more junior staff.
  • Provides additional support and assistance on tasks and projects as directed.
  • May support regulatory inspections as needed.
  • Works on projects that are cross-functional in nature.


Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of training, instructional design, communication and/or education.
  • Demonstrates functional and process knowledge to support the integrated design and development of training programs.
  • Proficient in instructional design (Articulate 360, and SCORM)
  • Proficient in Zoom, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications
  • Previous use of UL Eduneering ComplianceWire learning management system preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent task and time management skills (e.g., project planning, prioritization)

Education and Experience
  • Training experience in a GCP/Quality System environment with a working knowledge and ability to apply GCP, GVP and GLP
  • Experience conducting instructor-led training and facilitating workshops
  • 8+ years of relevant experience and a BS or BA degree.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience and a MS degree.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
