The Nebraska Center for Molecular Target Discovery and Development (CMTDD) and the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer at The University of Nebraska Medical Center seek candidates for a full-time tenure-leading junior faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates are expected to develop an independent, extramurally-funded research program in basic/translational cancer research that is complementary to existing strengths and aligned with the overall directions of the Institute and Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. The NIH-supported CMTDD, provides research support and dedicated mentoring to junior faculty with research programs focused on the identification and/or development of novel targets for disease treatment. Institute faculty members are expected to participate in graduate-level teaching in the Cancer Research Doctoral Program and/or other UNMC graduate programs and engage in institutional service based on their expertise.

The CMTDD and Eppley Institute reside in the 260,000 sq. ft. Cancer Research Tower within the NCI-designated Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, a contiguous multidisciplinary outpatient clinic and a 108-bed inpatient cancer hospital.

The CMTDD and Eppley Institute seek talented investigators using novel approaches to identify, validate or manipulate targets for potential cancer therapy. EEO/AA individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. To apply, go to https://jobs.unmc.edu and reference requisition #2021-214.
