Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan, is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor (9-month: tenure-track) in the broad area of artificial intelligence and machine learning to be appointed jointly in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (College of Engineering) and Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (College of Arts and Sciences). Candidates with expertise in, but not limited to, data visualization, machine learning, cognitive intelligence, intelligent actuators, cybersecurity, informatics, medical diagnoses, robotics, blockchain technologies, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Required qualifications: 
 Earned doctorate from an accredited university in computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience is highly desirable
 Demonstrable interest in teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
 Demonstrable interest in establishing a robust and externally-funded research program
 Strong publication record broadly focused on artificial intelligence
 Strong interest in programming and computational approaches
 Ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative team

Roles and responsibilities:
The successful candidate is required to teach graduate and undergraduate courses as assigned, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and establish a strong, externally-funded research program in his/her area of expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will also contribute to the department, college, and university functions. Because this position is a joint appointment between two colleges, the successful candidate is expected to work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment across departments and colleges. The successful candidate will utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to advance knowledge in their area of expertise, for example, regression techniques for prediction, optimization methods, algorithms for data cleansing and outlier identification, identification of relevant fingerprints/descriptors, classification methods, PLCs, industrial automation, robotics and sensor fusion. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley software, Siemens PLC software, National Instruments platforms, dSPACE platforms, ROS, MATLAB and Simulink, TensorFlow is preferred.
