Applications are invited for a physician-scientist or scientist in the Division of  Nephrology, Department of Medicine for the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are searching for outstanding individuals who are illuminating key renal pathophysiological processes and advancing Precision Medicine in Kidney Disease using basic science or translational approaches.  Innovative multi-disciplinary research involving preclinical methods, or the application of biomarkers for personalized medicine or multiomics research is encouraged. We are particularly interested in individuals who can integrate the growing body of information on molecular and cellular processes into functionally relevant contexts that translate into important medical advances. Scientists who are building toward or who have established independent research programs are encouraged to apply. Office and laboratory space will be provided by the section and a generous start-up package will be provided to expand the newly developed Kidney Precision Medicine Program. The primary appointment will be with the Division of Nephrology along with joint appointments in other Departments depending upon the scientific and clinical expertise of the faculty member. Applicants should have an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D., and demonstrated success in competing for extramural funding. Candidates will be evaluated based on their publications, potential to maintain an externally funded research program, and the degree to which their research intersects with other members of the division.
