Call for applications for Researcher (indefinite-term employment) position, in RIKEN, Japan

RIKEN invites applications for the position of Researcher (indefinite -term employment position) in the following research area.

Our research focuses on describing the details of energy transport and conversion at solid surfaces and interfaces in the nanoscale regime. In order to understand basic mechanisms at the single-molecule/atom level, we use scanning tunneling microscopy (STM)/spectroscopy. Moreover, on the basis of our experiences and achievements cultivated in single-molecule chemistry on solid surfaces for many years, we also developed photon-STM combined with light irradiation and optical detection at various frequencies and investigate energy conversion between electrons and photons of nano-scale materials. Furthermore, we aim for the creation of novel science by developing novel local spectroscopic techniques and ultimate measurements based on scanning probe microscopy.
