Postdoctoral positions available at the University of California, San Francisco, to study: 1) Mechanisms of neuronal maintenance and neuroprotection in the context of neurodegenerative disorders.  2) mechanisms regulating neural stem cell division, self-renewal and differentiation in the context of neurodevelopmental disorders or brain cancer; Technologies to be employed include chemical genetic screenings, imaging,  single-cell sequencing, and molecular biology/biochemistry. The successful applicant should have a recent PhD in neurobiology, cell biology, developmental biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or other relevant fields, and high quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience with model organisms including but not limited to zebrafish, screening, mitochondrial biology or stem cell biology, RNA-seq, as well as computer programming skills are preferred.
