A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Chih-Chi Andrew Hu with a focus on Cancer, Immunology, Cell signaling, and Drug Discovery. This position focuses on the study of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated stress signaling molecules and their roles in survival, metastasis and chemoresistance of cancer following the infection with the extracellular African trypanosome parasite, the causative agent of the Sleeping sickness in humans. A key component of this effort is to identify molecular targets that can be used for the treatment of B cell cancer via investigating B cell cancer mouse models and African trypanosome infection. We are especially interested in candidates who are in the final stage of their doctoral training and have a strong background and experience in cancer and immunology and in in vivo and ex vivo assays, such as FACS, cell culture, ELISA and cell signaling during doctoral training. Highly motivated applicants should send a cover letter, complete CV, and contact information for three references to the attention of Dr. Hu at cahu@houstonmethodist.org or Dr. De Trez at Carl.De.Trez@vub.be.
