Postdoctoral Scientist in Molecular Neuroscience
The Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), New York, NY is seeking a postdoctoral scientist in the field of Molecular Neurobiology. The postdoc will work in the laboratory of Dr. Stella Dracheva (Plevan) https://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/dracheva/. We are looking for a highly motivated scientist who is interested in applying molecular biology and functional genomics to study the molecular basis of human brain disorders. The primary focus of the project is to study transcriptional and epigenetic deficits in the brains of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients at single-cell resolution. The successful candidate will apply single cell sequencing techniques as well as various validation strategies, such as RNA Scope, immunohistochemistry, and iPSC-based models.
Educational requirements and qualifications:
-The applicant should hold a PhD degree in molecular or cell biology, neurobiology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or other relevant fields.
-Strong work experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, next generation sequencing methods, and cell culture is desirable. Experience with bioinformatic methods is a plus.
-Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English are required.
