The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) Division of Immunology and Pathogenesis and the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek applicants at the intersection of chemistry and biology who study fundamental aspects of the immune system. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the chemistry of immunological processes including protein structure and function; the development and use of chemical tools to elucidate immunological mechanisms; novel synthetic chemistry approaches towards new therapeutics, vaccines, diagnostics, or tools for imaging the immune response or immunotherapies/antibody-based therapies and the application of these approaches to areas of immunology such as cancer immunology, host-microbe interactions, microbial pathogenesis, B, T and or innate lymphoid biology, innate immunity, inflammation, mucosal immunity, autoimmunity, and type 2 immunity.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence, originality and productivity in research; potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring; and a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging through their work as member of the MCB and Chemistry faculties and our campus community.
