The Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering is seeking highly qualified candidates at the associate or full professor level who will thrive in an intellectually diverse community of engineers and scientists across Purdue’s ongoing initiatives, especially within the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience and the Center for Implantable Devices. Our school undertakes cutting-edge biomedical research with a focus on translation to clinical applications and community engagement for improved outcomes that are proactive, patient-centered, and wellness-focused. We seek top candidates with national recognition in the areas of biomedical instrumentation, implantable and wearable integrated circuit, embedded system, and neuroengineering. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline. Qualified applicants will be considered for an endowed professorship.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally-recognized, externally funded research program, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, perform service at the School and University levels, and help advance the frontiers of knowledge with current and future faculty affiliated with the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. The candidate will have the ability to leverage and/or extend existing expertise in implantable and wearable sensors and actuators for collaborating with the largest neurosurgical group in the United States, Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine in Indianapolis, Indiana University School of Medicine, as well as a network of nearby hospitals for extraordinary clinical collaboration. Moreover, the candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with international renown colleagues and use state-of-the-art facilities in the Purdue Colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, Health and Human Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.
