The research lab of Dr. Muia at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) in Tulsa, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct structure-functional studies of ADAMTS metalloproteases (https://scholars.okstate.edu/en/persons/joshua-muia). We are seeking an individual with a background in Protein Chemistry/Molecular Biology or a related field. The successful candidate will join an inclusive and dynamic team that has broad research interests in bleeding, thrombotic and cardiovascular disorders. The PI has made seminal contributions in the study of antithrombotic metalloprotease ADAMTS13 (see Muia et al. J Thromb Haemost 2013; 11:1511-8, Muia et al. Blood 2019;133:1899-1908). Dr. Muia’s lab offers a conducive environment for research, collaborations, and career growth. Current trainees have received prestigious fellowship awards.

The suitable candidate will have access to a variety of research equipment including, but not limited to FPLC, HPLC, Confocal Microscopes, PCR machine, Microplate readers, and cryogenic freezers. The suitable candidate is expected to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

The position will be funded for at least three years. In addition to working on the PI’s projects, the successful candidate also will have an opportunity to secure their external funding through foundational grants or government funding agencies and develop an independent research project, which will make them competitive for the next career level. In this respect, the PI will guide and assist in grant proposal preparation and submission.
