The NYU Grossman School of Medicine is hiring tenure-track faculty at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels at the Institute for Computational Medicine. Headed by Itai Yanai, PhD, the Institute is a hub for computational biology research, tackling complex and dynamic systems with a focus on medically-related challenges. Of particular interest are the fields of cancer biology, adaptive immune systems, and population health, where integration of large and diverse datasets and modeling of complex biological systems is required.

We seek collaborative colleagues with a focus on computational algorithm development, machine learning approaches, and/or large-scale multi-omics integration. The Institute for Computational Medicine occupies ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ space at the NYU Langone Health main campus with modern facilities, and our faculty take advantage of the rich clinical, basic and translational research landscape throughout our medical center. During this 2021-22 season we are searching for a candidate whose research is primarily computational.

The successful candidate will hold a primary appointment in one of the many relevant NYU Grossman School of Medicine Departments, and will have opportunities to participate in one or more graduate programs. PIs are expected to lead their own research programs as well as foster collaborations throughout NYU Langone Health.

Qualifications

PhD in mathematics, engineering, physics, or computer science, with applications in the life sciences.

Application Instructions

Candidates apply by submitting a CV and research plan as a consolidated pdf, due by 11/1/2021. Letter of recommendations are not required upon initial submission, but will be solicited for finalists. If chosen to advance to the interview stage, candidates must be available to participate in a group interview event to be held on 2/3/2022.

Should you have any questions about this opportunity, please feel free to reach out to the Institute Director, Dr. Itai Yanai: Itai.Yanai@nyulangone.org or the Executive Director Dr. Debra Bemis: Debra.Bemis@nyulangone.org
