The Ultrafast Dynamics Group (UFD) of the KAUST Solar Center (KSC) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopy of energy and electron transfer processes in organic (molecular) and hybrid (inorganic-organic) electronic materials used for solar energy conversion such as photovoltaics and photocatalysis. The current expertise of the UFD group covers (ultra)fast pump-probe transient absorption/reflection and THz experiments, time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) spectroscopy, and different transient electro-optical experiments on devices. Previous experience in multidimensional electronic/vibronic spectroscopy and in the analysis of multidimensional spectroscopy data is mandatory to be considered for the post.

Support the acquisition and daily operation of a state-of-the-art ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopy lab
Study ultrafast dynamics of energy and electron transfer processes and coherent phenomena in photoactive systems
Analyze and interpret multidimensional spectroscopy measurements and develop photophysical models to describe the observed dynamics
Contribute to joint projects with internal and external collaborators, working towards completion of objectives
Dissemination of research results in project meetings, peer-reviewed journals, and at international conferences
Maintain and advance the multidimensional spectroscopy lab

The candidate should ideally have a Ph.D. degree in physics or physical chemistry or a closely related field. Experience previously obtained during Ph.D./postdoctoral research in the field of multidimensional optical spectroscopy is inevitable; applications from applicants without such experience are discouraged. Knowledge of the photophysics and photochemistry of organic and hybrid materials is a given. The research requires a high level of experimental skills and involves the operation of sophisticated ultrafast laser systems such as femtosecond amplifiers/oscillators, OPOs, and home-built as well as commercial NOPAs. The ability to design and execute spectroscopic experiments and to interpret spectroscopic data are required. Expertise with LabView, MatLab, and Origin data analysis software is an advantage.
