Postdoctoral Researcher in Cardiovascular Medicine

Job Summary

The research in our laboratory is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases and developing novel therapies.  Two postdoctoral researcher positions are now open, funded by R01 grants. Research will be performed utilizing a variety of in vitro and in vivo approaches including stem cell differentiation, hIPSC-derived bioengineered blood vessels and animal model studies.  A cover letter and your CV are required as the first step for consideration for this position. Requirements

A doctoral degree in molecular and cell biology or bioengineering is required for this position. The candidate is expected to be familiar with basic molecular and cell biology techniques, and animal model studies.  Additional expertise in stem cell biology, vascular biology and functional genomics is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

The applicant is required to function in an independent fashion and be responsible of his/her own research project. In particular, he/she will be expected to be able to design experiments, initially under the PI’s guidance, conduct experiments, analyze data, and develop new research methodologies. The successful candidate will be expected to be proficient at scientific writing, and be able to prepare research papers.  While funding is currently available for the position, the candidate will be strongly encouraged to apply for his/her own funding, under the PI’s guidance.
