TENURE TRACK Faculty Position in Biochemistry

TUFTS UNIVERSITY

The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Biochemistry to begin September 1, 2022. The candidate is expected to maintain a successful research program with an emphasis on biochemistry of molecular machines conducting DNA replication, transcription, recombination or repair. We will prioritize applicants using state-of-the-art techniques as part of their portfolio of approaches. The candidate’s studies are expected to complement Departmental strength in molecular genetic studies of genome instability and have a high potential for collaborations within the Chemistry faculty, as well as other faculty across Tufts Schools (https://as.tufts.edu/biology/ and http://chem.tufts.edu/). The successful candidate is expected to develop an active externally funded research program. Instructional duties for the new faculty member will include teaching Biochemistry and contributing to a second course such as the Molecular/Cellular Biology graduate seminar course, the Molecular Biology laboratory course, or an upper-level course of their choice. 

A Ph.D.in a field related to Biochemistry is required. Postdoctoral experience will be a prerequisite for this position, and the successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential for extramural funding of their research and the ability to mentor research students
