The Biomarker Sciences department is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist (SRS) in the Immuno-Oncology therapeutic area who will work in a multidisciplinary matrixed team environment to generate and interpret data from translational and clinical studies. The SRS is responsible for leading the formation and implementation of biomarker strategies for early and/or late stage IO clinical programs. Experience in the analysis of multi-dimensional data sets and a strong understanding of mechanisms and immune pathways in tumors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional Biomarker Teams in the execution of clinical biomarker and diagnostic strategies
  • Direct the development, validation, and outsourcing of biomarker assays testing specific hypotheses related to pharmacodynamics, MOA, patient response, and/or safety in clinical trials
  • Direct the generation of any translational data that supports biomarker plans in clinical trials including indication or subtype selection
  • Collaborate with functional areas such as Research Biology, Clinical Research, and Clinical Data Sciences to generate, analyze, and interpret data from clinical trials and human translational studies
  • Provide expertise to project teams on appropriate biomarker technologies, including their scientific basis, clinical applicability, and technical or statistical considerations
  • Author biomarker-specific documents, and contribute to clinical protocols and regulatory submissions
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant scientific advances and the competitive landscape


Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated expertise in immunology and/or Immuno-oncology, with strong scientific background in hypothesis-driven research and demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experiments
  • Experience in implementation of biomarker strategies in clinical stage programs; strong understanding of clinical development in solid tumors, particularly immuno-oncology, preferred
  • Knowledge of biomarker discovery, assay development and validation, and translational research
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as demonstrate leadership in a team environment
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Must be a motivated, strategic, and results focused self-starter who enjoys working in a demanding, dynamic environment


Experience:

PhD and/or postdoctoral training in immunology, cancer biology, or related medical science, and 3-10 years of relevant biopharma industry experience. Position title will be dependent on experience.
