The new School of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen aims to be a high standard international medical centre that nurtures high-end medical professionals, conducts innovative medical research, and provides a comprehensive range of high-quality medical services. Position Specifications

CUHK-Shenzhen invites interested candidates from around the world to apply for positions at the ranks of Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in the new School of Medicine. Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree and a good scholarly record demonstrating teaching and research excellence in a medicine-related discipline. They are expected to teach topics in anatomy (gross anatomy, histology, etc), Microbiology and Pharmacology. Those who are experienced to teach other pre-clinical disciplines are also welcome to apply. Candidates with prior medical school teaching experience and/or medical education background are preferred. CUHK-Shenzhen adopts a tenure-track system for Assistant Professors and above. Senior positions with tenure will be considered for outstanding candidates with proven records.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Salary will be highly competitive and commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen, and employee benefits will be provided according to government regulations. Subsidies from various government sponsored talent programmes are available for eligible candidates.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen officially announced the establishment of the School of Life and Health Sciences on November 14th, 2018, which is the fourth school of CUHK-Shenzhen proceeded by the School of Management and Economics (SME), the School of Sciences and Engineering (SSE), and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), offering educational programs from baccalaureate to graduate degrees.

Inheriting the excellent academic traditions and rigorous academic spirit of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, established upon the research foundations of the three Nobel Prize Research Institutes, aiming at the frontiers and long-term goals of the disciplines, the School of Life and Health Sciences shall offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees. The Academic Board of the Chinese University of Hong Kong takes charge of the approval and supervision of degree programs, guiding and managing teaching and teaching-related matters, and supervising the level of CUHK-Shenzhen degree qualification. CUHK-Shenzhen graduates are awarded degree certificates by the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, the School of Life and Health Sciences offers four undergraduate programs in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science and Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science and Biological Sciences, and one MPhil-PhD Program in Biological Sciences. Newly added program in 2022 includes one MSc Program in Bioinformatics (jointly offered with School of Data Science).
