The Department of Inflammation & Immunity in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute is conducting a search for new faculty members at the Assistant Professor academic level. This search is a coordinated effort with a substantial expansion of the entire Institute around a new Center for Pathogen Research and Human Health. We seek talented investigators with innovative ideas and experimental models to develop successful research programs in either traditional areas of immunology or emerging areas that have synergy with other disciplines such as informatics and biomedical engineering. We are especially interested in candidates that may have unique areas of interest and expertise that may not yet be mainstream. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. We also welcome candidates with dual degrees (M.D., D.O., D.V.M.).

The Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute, currently with nearly 190 independent investigators in 8 departments and an annual budget of ~ $300 million, has a commitment to excellence in basic, translational and clinical science, with an emphasis on interactive, collaborative research. A major strength of our research programs is the ability to work closely with physicians in the #2 ranked hospital in the US/world to establish unique directions for our work that can ultimately lead to improvements for the quality of life of our patients. The Institute offers an outstanding mentorship for young faculty members, generous start up and salary support, as well as world class facilities and core services.

Applicants should have rigorous training in immunology and/or synergistic areas as well as an outstanding track record of accomplishment during their graduate student and postdoctoral training. The Department is particularly interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Applicants should send a cover letter, a short narrative of research accomplishments, interests and future plans, their curriculum vitae, and the names of three referees for letters of reference to Kelsey Duhaime, duhaimk@ccf.org.

Cleveland Clinic is pleased to be an equal employment/affirmative action employer: Women/ Minorities/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities. Smoke/drug free environment.
