The Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) is seeking an outstanding candidate for postdoctoral position in biomedical device development and translational medicine. 

This position will be appointed through Harvard Medical School at the rank of postdoctoral research fellow and involved in the design and development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic devices.  Candidates with strong background and hands-on experience in electrical engineering, biosensor technology and applied electronics are encouraged to apply. Candidates who can work with large and small animal models are preferred.

Principal duties and responsibilities:  This position requires deep technical skills and knowledge focused on developing novel biosensor therapeutic devices using principles, materials, and structures that are implantable and wearable.  Such devices are primarily used for sensing, diagnostics, and therapeutic applications, solving the limitations of conventional existing devices and conventional approaches.

The qualified candidate with electrical engineering degree or equivalent with familiarity in electronics and mechanical engineering will work collaboratively with other scientists and physicians in a multidisciplinary environment.  One focus of this position will be the implementation of a diagnostic and therapeutic device that will have applications translated from bench to bedside that can be used for human applications.
