The Department of Cell and Molecular Physiology at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, level.

We seek a junior colleague to build on our strengths in cardiac, neuro, endocrine physiology, cell biology, metabolism and translational research. Departmental faculty are actively engaged in diverse research areas including biophysics, cytonuclear signaling, RNA regulation and aging, proteomics, cellular mechano-sensation, neural control of energy balance, heart failure, pain, obesity and diabetes. In addition, in partnership with Loyola University Medical Center, we are recruiting world-class physician-scientists as part of an Institutional Initiative to aggressively expand translational research at Loyola.

The SSOM is undergoing rapid growth in all of its basic departments. Laboratory space will be in the state-of-the-art Center for Translational Research and Education (www.luc.edu/ctre). The faculty applicant will be expected to sustain an independent, externally-funded research program, and contribute to graduate and medical education. Candidates must have a doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience with strong publication records.
