The University of Michigan School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position. Successful candidates are expected to have already established an independent research program in Visual Sciences with evidence of sustained funding. Applicants focused on all areas of vision research will be evaluated with particular consideration given to those studying neuronal development and function; regeneration/ restoration related to vision, neuro-inflammation related to blinding eye diseases, visual perception, or systems biology related to the retinal neurovascular unit. This is an outstanding opportunity, including the potential for a named Professorship for appropriate candidates.
Candidates applying for the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor are welcome to apply for what will be a primary appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology with a joint appointment in an appropriate basic science department such as Molecular and Integrative Physiology or Cell and Developmental Biology.
The position is for the instructional tenure track and is full-time. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
