The Geriatrics Center and Biology of Aging Group at the University of Michigan are seeking applications for Assistant or Associate Professor recruiting. Successful candidates will join a highly-interactive, well-funded, creative faculty, in an environment that includes the Paul F. Glenn Center for Aging Research, NIA Intervention Testing Program, the UM Cardiovascular Aging Center, Claude Pepper Center, the Ann Arbor VA GRECC, and a long-standing NIA-funded training grant. These programs, together with substantial start-up funding, provide valuable infrastructure and resources for new and established researchers.
Minimum qualifications are a PhD or MD, several years of highly productive postdoctoral research, and a clear interest in problems relevant to aging. Established scientists would need an international reputation as a leader in aging research, a strong track record of extramural funding, and a reputation as an outstanding mentor. Successful candidates will be housed in modern lab space, and will receive a primary appointment in a basic science or research-oriented clinical department as appropriate. Inquiries can be directed to Rich Miller (millerr@umich.edu). Applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV, a brief description of research interests, a synopsis of current and previous research support, and contact information for 3 – 5 referees.
